Ontario has appointed two new judges to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective Dec. 17, 2014.
Justice Ferhan Javed is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in criminal law. Most recently, he was managing partner of Javed Frost Trehearne, where he prosecuted federal matters as a standing agent of the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in the Durham Region (Ajax/Pickering). Justice Javed managed his own criminal defence practice at Simcoe Chambers in Toronto. He is fluent in French, Urdu and Punjabi and holds a certificate of bilingualism in French from Glendon College. Justice Javed will preside in Oshawa.
Justice Kimberly Eva Marie Moore has worked as a Crown attorney for the Ministry of the Attorney General. Prior to that, she was an assistant Crown attorney for 13 years, conducting prosecutions in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. Justice Moore has been a member of the Ontario Senior Crown Attorneys’ Association and the County of Lanark Lawyers’ Association. Justice Moore will preside in Brockville.
