Operating as New York Fries, Genfry Enterprises Inc., a restaurant at 1680 Richmond St., London, received a fine for failing to ensure that a worker exposed to the hazard of injury with hot liquid was protected by personal protective equipment.

Last summer, an employee had reached into a vat of hot oil, to retrieve a cloth that had fallen. The worker suffered burns.

The $26,000 fine does not include the mandatory 25-per-cent victim fine surcharge.
