My name is Elizabeth LeReverend. I am a licensed paralegal and I created SCOPE in April, 2013. The online magazine quickly became the go-to source for all things paralegal.
Paralegal SCOPE is the only source of news, features and information for Ontario’s 6,000 paralegals.
SCOPE’s success can be attributed to two facts: it filled an unmet need; and its publisher combines journalistic skill with legal acumen, to create a one-of-a-kind product that raises the bar on legal writing, research and reporting.
SCOPE gives paralegals the unbiased reporting and information they deserve. SCOPE promotes access to justice, by informing the public about paralegal regulation and practice areas.
Journalistic Quality, Paralegal Focus
As a full-time reporter, I focused on the “crime beat,” covering murders, police and emergency services, court and other legal issues. My reporting earned several regional and national awards for feature and news writing.
Now, I cover all things paralegal — everything that affects this newest legal profession. All eyes are on Ontario, the only jurisdiction to regulate non-lawyer providers of legal services. Paralegals are part of the solution to Access to Justice, ensuring that the public can get the legal help they need, when they need it.
